"Double Orientation originated from thinking about how letterforms can be mirrored, like the letters b and d. When I was younger, I often wrote my b’s and d’s backwards. That experience made me more aware of how orientation changes the way we read and understand language. Using my own scribble-inspired forms, I created a sculpture that contains two of each form. The shapes appear familiar, but each is oriented differently, similar to the relationship between the letters b, d, p, and q. Though they begin from the same structure, their orientation changes how they are perceived."

"What is the key to happiness? Some might say it is movement. When sad or tired we tend to move slower. But when excited our pace picks up. This sculpture incorporates two types of movement. This first is the visual movement of the different sizes of rectangles leading the
