Nathan is 23 years old, he lives in Ft Wayne and currently works as studio artist for William Lupkin Designs -a stain glass business. He has worked on panels for Eddie Merlott’s restaurant and several Ft Wayne area churches.
He graduated from Ball State University with a BFA in sculpture. He also has interest in blacksmithing, wood working & furniture making, ceramics, live painting demonstrations and theater.
At age 7 he won a state wide watercolor competition with a painting of the mythical” Firebird”. His artwork was displayed at the Indy Museum of Art.
He saw the opera Broomhilda at a young age and has always been influenced by myth and legend. He enjoys making utilitarian artwork with symbolic images, similar to the way ancient peoples used to decorate their things.
When you wish upon a star you can make dreams come true. Proceeds from the sale of this sculpture will be donated to a charity to make a child’s dream come true.
